Offer

Also called: Offer wrists, Low bracelet, presenting the wrists, hands held out

Kneeling, arms held out, wrists side by side towards the other person: an invitation to be bound.

How to take it

Kneel on a cushion, knees apart, sitting on your heels, upper body upright. Hold your arms out in front of you, at chest height, elbows slightly bent. Bring your wrists together side by side, inner side facing up, hands open and fingers relaxed. Your shoulders stay low. Head high, eyes lowered to your wrists or to the person you are holding them out to.

What it says

Consent made visible: you are the one presenting what may be tied. The gesture carries weight because it is given, not taken.

Variants

  • Wrists crossed rather than side by side.
  • Standing, feet shoulder-width apart, arms held out and wrists pressed together.
  • Seated on the edge of a chair, forearms on your thighs, wrists held out towards the other person.

The call“Your wrists.”
